On the cusp of my 51st birthday and after months of self debate, I’ve decided to ATTEMPT to go grey gracefully. I have colored and henna’d my hair since the 70’s and the upkeep is horrendous. I have elbow length thick wavy hair and that in itself is a nightmare, compounded by the fact that my hair grows so fast.
At this point, I have about a quarter inch of new growth and I can’t just “let it grow out” because I work in a professional office and it just wouldn’t fly AND I’m just too fussy about my appearance. My plan is to use temporary hair color (the kind that washes out in about 28 days) beginning the next time I color until my birthday next year and then just cut off all the colored hair.
I also plan to go back to my “no poo” method of hair care, and I will also talk about that.
This blog will serve as a journal of that process and hopefully help someone else later.
